Showstopper Cakes Inspired by Bridgerton

There’s something about Bridgerton that lingers… not just the gowns or the glances, but the quiet theatre of the food. This collection brings that world into your kitchen. Three cakes inspired by some of Bridgerton’s most compelling characters. Each one designed to not only taste beautiful, but to feel like it belongs in that world; soft where it should be, bold where it matters, and always, always, considered. Whether you’re hosting your own afternoon tea or simply want to bake something a little more intentional, these cakes are worthy of the Ton.

1. Daphne Bridgerton’s Honey & Lavender Cake

Soft, floral, and quietly elegant… this is the kind of cake that doesn’t need to announce itself.

Daphne’s world is one of restraint and grace, and this cake follows suit. A light vanilla sponge gently infused with honey and lavender, creating something delicate but not forgettable. The flavour is subtle, the texture airy, and the overall effect effortlessly refined.

Ingredients

    • 225g unsalted butter (softened)
    • 200g caster sugar
    • 4 eggs
    • 250g self-raising flour
    • 1 tsp baking powder
    • 2 tbsp honey
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 120ml milk

Lavender Honey Syrup

    • 120ml water
    • 80g sugar
    • 1 tbsp honey
    • 1 tsp culinary lavender

Filling

    • 200ml thickened cream (whipped)
    • 3 tbsp lemon curd

Lavender Buttercream

    • 150g butter
    • 300g icing sugar
    • 1–2 tbsp milk
    • tiny drop purple colouring (optional)
    • pinch lavender (very light)

Method

Preheat oven to 170°C fan. Grease and line 2 x 20cm cake tins.

Cream butter & sugar until pale and fluffy.

Add eggs one at a time, beating well.

Fold in the flour & baking powder.

Add the honey, vanilla and milk and mix gently.

Divide evenly into the tins and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.

Syrup

Simmer all ingredients for 5 minute then strain out lavender and cool.

Assemble

Spread lavender buttercream over each cake half, including the sides of each half.

Then spread cream & lemon curd filling over the surface of what will be the bottom half.

Place the top half onto the bottom half. Drizzle syrup over the cooled cakes and decorate.

Styling & Serving

Finish with edible flowers… violets or lavender work beautifully. Less is more here, then serve on fine china, alongside tea, in the middle of a long conversation.
